The Quarter Dresden project is now a flimsy. It isn't huge - just 50 x 60. But I'm very pleased with how it turned out. It's pressed and hanging in the closet, along with the leftover grey background - just in case. The project box has been emptied and will have a new project take up residence in the box soon.
It's time to take stock of what RSC block sets are remaining in the closet, so plans can be made for how to proceed with each set. These are not all of the partial sets from this year and even from past years, but it gives me an idea of what is there. Continuing block sets into the next year never bothers me.
Some of my day yesterday was spent taking down some fall decor and putting up Christmas. My cardinal tree stays up all year in the dining room as I just enjoy the cardinals that remind me of all the friends and family no longer with us. I changed out the quilt, and hung the cardinal quilt for the Christmas season. And one of the new table runners is on the table. The big Christmas tree in the living room is partially decorated.
But the stockings are all hung. That new stocking I made for myself is likely to stimulate a bit of teasing from my girls. It's twice as big as everyone else's and the toe is pointing the opposite direction. Oops!! LOL
Let's go see what else is happening with scraps . . .

What a cute Dresden quilt! Your decorating looks very festive—I haven’t started yet, but I do want to get the fall stuff put away today if time permits.
ReplyDeleteThe rainbow blocks as a collage photo really emphasize both color and pattern. Your Christmas decorations are so pretty! And, yes, Mom, you deserve the big stocking!
ReplyDeleteThe Dresden Fan quilt turned out beautifully. You've got some fun RSC blocks to play with next. Looking forward to seeing what you tackle next.
ReplyDeleteYour quarter Dresden top is so pretty, Sara! I love the black setting triangles - they make the pretty colors of the Dresdens just pop! Fun to see your Christmas decorations coming out. That cardinal quilt is a beauty! The big question is - will Santa be able to fill that stocking?!
ReplyDeleteAn empty project box is such a great invitation to think about how to fill it. What a great collection of blocks. I hope you find time to turn more into finished flimsies

ReplyDeleteI love your Cardinal quilt. Is it a specific pattern or something you came up with it? I have a granddaughter (age4) who loves cardinals and see myself making this for her Hope chest.
ReplyDeleteThe Dresdens are just lovely!
ReplyDeletePretty Christmas decorations. I have a friend who leaves a small tree up all year too, it is hung with decorations collected on overseas trips. I've had my Christmas quilts up for a week or so now, so I have plenty of time to enjoy them.
ReplyDeleteThe larger stocking made me smile:) Your Cardinal tree and quilt are very pretty as is your new table topper!
ReplyDeleteI love your Dresden Fans quilt top! That was the perfect design for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge. I may have to borrow that idea for next year (if you don't mind!)
ReplyDeleteThat Dresden is beautiful, and being able to empty the project box is such a satisfying milestone! Taking stock of all those remaining RSC block sets is a smart way to start planning for the new year.
