Winter arrived

Winter weather blew in yesterday late morning, and it made my decision easy to NOT make that 80 mile drive to Sioux Falls for the afternoon work meeting.  At times I could barely see the house across the street due to the white-out of snow pushed by 40 mph wind.

You know what that meant . . . a bit of sewing time instead of driving.  I was looking at some Valentine themed small kits in my "holiday" drawer to play with next, and came across a St Paddy's Day UFO.  You know how easily I am distracted, right?  I think I started this last year but abandoned it when I realized it wouldn't be done in time for the holiday itself.  It's a table runner so it would be a quick project, and ready before March actually arrives THIS YEAR. The parts required some organization but are now layed out on the big design board and ready to move this little thing from UFO to at least the flimsy stage.

  1. Greens are hopeful as we hunker down for extreme cold! I remember the first encounter of winter wind sweeping over I-94 in Fargo. Scary! (I turned around and went home. As I learned, the next day was sunny and calm. Still cold, though.)

  2. Glad you stayed in a sewed! I actually got a St. Patrick’s table runner made a few weeks ago. It seems like the first time in a long time that I am ahead for once.

  3. So wise to stay home and sew. Winter arrives here late Friday based on the most recent forecasts. Thankfully we get snow, south of us gets ice.

  5. yes doesn't seem like you need to go out in that weather - no one needs to take a chance like that if they can help it.
