First . . . an update on the state wrestling tournament for my granddaughter. She ended up with 8th place (out of 16) by default as she got a dislocated elbow in the match to determine whether she would be wrestling for 3rd, 5th, or 7th. Ended up in the ER, where she was sedated and the elbow put back into place. There is a cast on it for next 6 weeks or so. But no broken bones or torn tissues so she's lucky.
OK - on to sewing!! It's a whole new month, but my goal list doesn't change much from one month to another because I'm always working with multiple on-going projects. I enjoy those Block of the Month/Week sew-along types of projects, so I'll continue to play along.
WIPs = Works in Progress
- Keep up with Sewcialites (block of week)
- keep up with Alycia's QOV sew-along
- finish flimsy for SAHRR
- keep up with guild DIY Round Robin
- Saturday Sampler - new monthly blocks
- make blocks for Rainbow Scrap Challenge in NEW color - RED
- finish hand stitching on Sashiko piece
- bind Triple Triangle quilt
- Jackrabbit Stars - take to long arm quilter
- pair up next UFO with backing
- finish blocks for QOV Shadow Star (seriously neglected)
NEW Projects & PIGs (Projects in Grocery Sacks)
- April mini quilt (Year of Spools)
- Choose another PIG from the drawer to begin
- NOT BUY ANY NEW KITS FOR A MONTH!!!!
I'm linking up today with:
That stinks for your granddaughter to dislocate her elbow; painful and scary! She is a true warrior and winner returning to the tournament; very classy girl!
ReplyDeleteGlad grand daughter's injury wasn't even more severe, tho, dislocation is pretty painful! Congrats on the special highlight of the local quilter!
ReplyDeleteOuch! She looks like a trouper -- and a great teammate. Hope it heals quickly with no residual damage. Meanwhile: here's to March and 31 days to sew! [P.S. I dreamed that S & I were in Mitchell. We almost made it to the Corn Palace but I woke up as you were urging me to go to the quilt shop.]
ReplyDeleteHow cool is that being featured at your local shop!! You should go in and take pic's and show us what they chose to put up. So sorry for your granddaughters mishap, I bet that was really painful. I hope she has a speedy recovery.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry the granddaughter's season ended with an injury. But she seems to have the right attitude about it. Having adversity really sucks at that age, but it builds a lot of resilience for later in life. Congrats on being the featured quilter. Happy sewing this month, you have a fun list to work with.
ReplyDeleteouch that must have hurt - sounds like your granddaughter is a tough gal though and will be ok. yes show your quilt hanging!
ReplyDeleteGreat projects Sara and congrats being the Featured Quilter for March!
ReplyDeleteYour granddaughter is still smiling! What a gal! Good for you being the featured quilter what fun!
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry to hear about your granddaughter's dislocated elbow. I'm really glad they sedated her to replace it and thankful it was not broken or had torn ligaments and tendons. Congrats on being the featured quilter at your LQS this month. I look forward to the photos. Have fun with your list this month. Thanks for sharing with us at Monday Musings. Have a great week.
