Another flimsy is done. Yay!!
This is the Hollow-9 quilt, that uses some of the blocks in that collection. The top is 36 x 42, which should be a pretty good size for a lap quilt.
The blue laying underneath is the backing I had in the stash that fits. And I found a batting piece that is also large enough. I'm going to sandwich this today and see if I can quilt it myself without messing it up.
There is still a nice stack of the Hollow-9 blocks, and I'll just keep making them because they are great for using up scraps. Another quilt will happen with them eventually.
The black/white prints really set off the hollow 9's! I think either vertical or horizontal lines (walking foot) for the quilting. Straight stitch, though if your machine has a serpentine stitch that would look good.
ReplyDeleteI love the alternate block fabric as it adds drama to the quilt :-)
ReplyDeleteI'll have to check my basket of 2.5" squares as I know there are a couple different blocks started and one might be another hollow nine. I do like all your brights in this one. I know I did one in greens and I think blues mixed in.
ReplyDeleteWonderful top and also the snowflake one from yesterday. You do churn out the tops!!
ReplyDeleteYou can do it!!! That top turned out so cute!
ReplyDeleteWay to go!
ReplyDeleteWell done, Sara. 9-Parch blocks are so versatile. You can add them to any kind of soup. ;^)
ReplyDeleteSure does look pretty and you found a backing to make a perfect pairing!
ReplyDeleteIt's a fun quilt. You found the perfect fabric for those alternate blocks. Hope the quilting goes well.
