Finally - I have all the little pieces ironed onto the Beach Bums wall hanging. It's ready to be quilted, and I want it to be dense quilting to make sure all those little pieces stay put.
I'm really pleased with how it turned out. Now a backing is needed.
Next up was this month's Saturday Sampler blocks. The May instructions called for only 6 log cabin type of blocks, finishing at 9". They were sewn into 2 sets of 3. These probably took me longer to choose fabrics for them than to sew them.
However - look what arrived in the mail? This might have to come right after Saturday Sampler. Sew Jammy is the final Year of Spools mini quilt. The spool is the jam jar, and so cute with the red/white gingham.
The beach bums looks great and the flip flops too!
ReplyDeleteWill you be quilting Beach Bums yourself? I think I have loved each and every one of the spool minis!
ReplyDeleteI love that spool kit! Maybe because I just ate my toast and jam this morning? LOL
ReplyDeleteBeach Bums came together really well. Good luck with the quilting. That spool block is really cute. I don't blame you for getting a head start on it.
ReplyDeleteThe beach beauties make great wall hanging! The new strawberry banner is so cute!
ReplyDeleteThe Beach Bums are so cute, Sara! I love their flip flops and martini glasses. And your newest spool kit looks so fun! I can see why you wanted to start on it right away.
ReplyDeletethe beach bums turned out great. I would wonder too if pieces would kind of fall apart the smaller they are I agree more in quilting rather than less to keep them in place.
ReplyDeleteYou have some great almost finishes! The Beach Bums is really cute:)
ReplyDeleteI am with you when you say it may take longer to pick fabric than to sew the blocks. So true, at least in my case!
ReplyDeleteadorable beach bums! and i'd start that strawberry right away too!
ReplyDeleteThe Beach Bums turned out really cute, Sara! Looking forward to see how you are quilting it. Beautiful blocks and the strawberry spool is darling!
