I had this image in my head of how different this Shooting Star block might look with the lights and darks reversed.
And the finished blocks met my expectations! The block was designed by Stacy Hsu for the Blockheads 5 series. It's a free pattern on the Blockheads site. Missy picked this star to add to our pizza box challenge.
My 30s version is cute too, although it might have been prettier with the background more colorful. Who knows, maybe I'll make another one.

What a great interpretation of the block!
ReplyDeleteI love the 'what if' aspect of quilting!!! Nice work on your blocks!
ReplyDeleteOh yes the contrast of the darks and lights really makes the square pop!
ReplyDeleteI liked the one on the right then I saw the one in the 30s print and I went "Yep that's my favourite one!" lol. ;^)
ReplyDeleteThey all look nice. It might be interesting to make a quilt with both the white background and colored background. I do think the 30's fabric needs a pop, since the stars are somewhat muted.
ReplyDeleteI have fallen asleep with my finger on the button before & just like that! It's the next day 😆 the star blocks looks great!
ReplyDeleteooh those RWB versions are sooo pretty....nothing prettier than RWB....
