Well, OK - they're half pink. These are the last ones I needed for the kid quilt I've been working on. I used 12 fat quarters plus a couple of smaller scraps to make 30 blocks.
I'm loving the pinwheels but have decided that all of the bright pinwheels together is just too busy. My husband claimed it was psychodelic and looked like the whole thing was spinning. So I'm thinking that I need some sashing between the blocks. Bright yellow might be good. Or maybe navy blue. Any other suggestions?
Honestly I kinda like as is...it has an Aussie feel to to it. Wish I could be of more help but I'm one of those gals that almost always grabs white.
ReplyDeleteHow about a polka dot on white... Multicolored dots or black? Something to make the blocks pop but keep the happy vibe of your pretty colors going.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Podunk Pretties.... I like it as is! It is a great quilt... lots of movement and lots of fun! Great for a kids quilt.
ReplyDeleteI love it too just as it is. I'm with Podunk Pretties, I always grab whites too.
ReplyDeleteI like it as-is as well, but if you want a sashing, Kona has a pretty yellow called Butter which would go very well with those blocks. I've used it with pink and green (and other colors) many times and it always looks good. Perfect pinwheels, by the way!
ReplyDeleteA child will love it no matter what you do. I personally like it as it is.
ReplyDeleteI like it as it is as well. If you feel it needs to be toned down a bit break up your blocks with the dark backgrounds with the blocks that have lighter backgrounds, that might help.
ReplyDeleteI agree it is fun how it is. A yellow sashing would work too. Good luck.
ReplyDeleteI think it is fun as is...but yellow wouldn't be bad.
ReplyDeleteOh I am no help - I like it as it is - but I LOVE bright colors! and I really like you pink and green blocks!
ReplyDeleteNavy would be beautiful with your pinwheels. Just depends on the look you are going for.
ReplyDeleteI think the busier the quilt the more entertained the child using it will be. On the other hand, it might keep them from going to sleep when they ought to! I like the idea of a white with black print for sashing if you decide to go that route.
ReplyDeleteI love the multi coloured pinwheels that appear when your blocks are in the current lay out. You can't go wrong with black and white print for sashing if you must.
ReplyDeleteI love it just like it is! But I love bright, colorful, busy, scrappy, happy quilts.
