In a normal year we would be a month into the college basketball season. We enjoy our season tickets to South Dakota State University Jackrabbit games. We are loyal alumni. And we also enjoy following the local small college basketball - Dakota Wesleyan University.
DWU had 1 home doubleheader with limited fans and lots of Covid precautions. And then they moved to no fans - except for immediate family basically. But we can listen on the radio.
SDSU women had their 1st home game on Saturday afternoon - with 600 fans allowed in the arena. We were fortunate to get 2 of those tickets. Masks were required, no concession stands, hand sanitizer everywhere you looked, and those few fans were spread out around the arena. I would estimate the closest person was sitting at least 20 feet away from us. Home game #2 was Monday night, and we got lucky with tickets for that one too. Ticket requests are handled one game at a time. Let's hope they keep allowing a few fans.
On the quilting front, I have had a small finish and can check it off my December goal list. Pine Tree Point was a Bonnie Hunter pattern from this fall. It's green scraps turned into string pieced strips. The pattern has a quilt and a tablerunner, but I just made one block so it became a wall hanging. And it looks so cute hanging just inside my door coming in from the garage.
I added just a little embellishment. There is a gold star shaped button topping the tree, and I had a string of trim that looks like tiny Christmas lights. So those are strung on the tree too. Everything in this project was from the scrap bins or stash, even the backing.
I know the athletes appreciated the fans that were allowed to attend the games. The wall hanging is cute with the string of lights and star.
ReplyDeleteThe tree is super cute! I'm so glad you've been able to get tickets to the games and support our Jacks! Hopefully you'll be able to enjoy several more games this season.
