I have an eye appointment early this morning, but hope to get some quality sewing time in once I get home again. My "design wall" is currently the floor again, so before I can work on this week's project I'll need to do a bit of reorganizing.
The main project I want to finish is the Chubby Charmer tote bag. I have good start on it, with both the front and back sewn. Only one half is quilted at this point, but the other half is sandwiched and ready. The handles are cut too. Since there is no zipper, and I'm skipping the inside pockets, I hope to finish this quickly.
Speaking of bags and zippers - I have a small bag that I abandoned because I messed up the zipper. It's time to fix it, and finish it.
The second month's block for Carol Doak's Circle of Friends BOM was posted, so I will be working on this block. It's 12" finished and paper pieced. The pieces are cut, and the paper foundations are printed. I know I vowed not to do a bunch more paper piecing, but one block per month is manageable.
The other mystery BOM that I'm following online is Tranquility from Bear Creek Quilting. I anticipate that the August clue will be emailed this week. I'm eager to see what we're doing next with that mystery.
I'm linking up with Design Wall Monday . . .
I'm also linking up with Monday Musings . . .
Ooh, Carol Doak's FPP blocks are beautiful! That looks like a lot of fun. Your hexies and hand quilting are wonderful, too!
ReplyDeleteGood for you to visit a problem project. I'm laughing about a purse without a zipper....I upend my purse to frequently to not have a zippered purse with the zipper generally closed. My daughter made me a really nice purse but I quit carrying it because of the lack of zipper. The more I think about it the more I realize I could actually add a bit of fabric and a zipper and I could use it. Must think on that a bit. Hope you have a bunch of sewing time this afternoon.
ReplyDeleteI love that black fabric with the bright colored squiggles:) Oh for sure you will be done with that bag quickly. Have a great week.
ReplyDeleteI’ve been considering tackling some bags, so I’ll be watching your progress with interest.
ReplyDeletemos of us do not have room for more than one design wall if even have that - the floor comes into use a lot here too
ReplyDeleteCute bag!! Good luck at the eye doctor
ReplyDeleteHave fun working on the new and older projects.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful work on your hexies. The tote will be beautiful. Love it.
ReplyDeleteYou've got a good start on the tote. It's always hard to go back and fix something, but it is easier if you walk away for a bit and come back to it.
ReplyDeleteLove the hexies, esp in those fabrics and on that background! Well-chosen and nice work!
