My design wall this morning holds my Saturday Sampler block pieces for this month. I have the first 4 blocks made, and have the remaining 4 started.
The flying geese that make up the star points are done with the "4 at a time" method. These have not even needed any trimming as they are so accurate.
Once I have the Saturday Sampler blocks done, I'm going to cut the parts needed for our next Sew Vintage group project. I'll need a bunch of 2.5" squares cut from these fabrics to make a Christmas ornament when the group meets again.
One of my goals this fall has been to make some of the kits I have purchased and set aside. Those are the PIGs (projects in grocery sacks) that I've added to my UFO list. This one is a small kit, made using the Lori Holt Spelling Bee book. It should look very cute in my sewing room.
I'm working on some bindings in the evenings as well. One is for a Quilt of Valor and the other is for a UFO kid sized quilt. And there will be at least a couple more of the blue/white Twinkler blocks added to the pile.
I'll be linking up with Design Wall Monday today and Monday Musings.
You will whip right through those star blocks and onto the cute 'CREATE' project.
ReplyDeleteWorking on little things adds up to a lot done! I especially like the sewing banner.
ReplyDeleteThat Create runner is adorable! Looks Iike it will be fun to work on!
ReplyDeleteThe runner will be cute in the sewing room. I’ve set aside fabrics for bindings, and need to cut them and prepare them for my ready to grab binding box.
ReplyDeleteYou have some fun projects this week!
ReplyDeletegosh those solid blocks are stunning!
ReplyDeleteI love doing 4 at a time flying geese! Best FG method!!! I love your Create quilt coming up!!!
ReplyDeleteYour sawtooth stars drew my attention on Design Wall Monday linky party. I don't tend to buy kits but I sure like the Create one. And, don't forget to show the ornament you make with the squares. I make ornaments for my grands every year. This year it is felt baby penguins.
ReplyDeleteIt all looks fun, but that banner is especially cute!
ReplyDeleteI don't think I have heard of PIGS before, but I am sure I could find some in my stash. Love your "Create" banner and hope you have fun assembling it. Your bright sawtooth stars really caught my eye. I have not been as successful at your method of making 4 flying geese at a time. Maybe I should try it again. Happy sewing!
ReplyDeleteYou have some fun projects in the works. I haven't touched my PIGs in years. I have a few patterns paired with fabrics. Maybe once the UFO list is worked down a bit, I'll move on to those.
ReplyDeleteGreat projects, Sara! I love making the star points/flying geese four at a time! Thanks for sharing with us at Monday Musings!
