I'm sincerely hoping that everyone in the path of Hurricane Milton (and Helene before that) have come through safely. My family members in Florida are OK thankfully.
Normally this would be Saturday Sampler and Sew Vintage group day, but I'm going on a little road trip with a daughter and granddaughter today. We're headed to Sioux City, IA for a swim meet. No sewing will happen today, but I can report plenty of stitching time this past week.
The Shooting Star project was next up for RSC block sets. I need more of both the star and the alternate block for a good sized quilt, so these will continue for now. But I did sew quite a few of them into 4-sies. Those skirt hangers get difficult to clip as the block sets grow, plus it's a good way to get a head start on quilt top assembly when the time comes.
There was some fun scrappy Rainbow sewing in the past few days - pineapples. No new scraps were created to make these blocks, but no significant dent was made in the scrap bins either. However I had lots of fun making these based on a picture I saw in Pinterest.
My main projects this week have involved some planned projects, rather than scrappy projects. Another blue and white quilt is in early stages. A Hunter's Star in a rainbow of colors is nearing the flimsy stage. I've also been sorting through a couple of other RSC blocks sets to make plans for the rest of 2024 - or on into 2025.

Enjoy the girl's day out! Those pineapple blocks are such fun, the rainbow of colors just makes them so cool. It is getting to the time of year to decide what's going to get done in 2024 and what to focus on in 2025. Insane that October is almost half over!
ReplyDeleteYour pineapples are so pretty in multi-colors. Will make a gorgeous quilt.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds as though you have a fun day planned, so enjoy the girl time together! I love your productive sewing, especially those pineapples. I’ve made two pineapple quilts with that exact same pineapple, only in yellow pineapples with one “odd man out” pineapple in another color. They are such fun!
ReplyDeleteI love your pineapple blocks. So cheerful! I’ve hit a wall! No sure why, but need to get over it!
ReplyDeleteLove the pineapples! My daughter just bought a condo in Hawaii and would love it if I made a quilt (or 2 or 3…😆). I might try this.
ReplyDeleteLove, love, LOVE your rainbow Pineapples, Sara! Hope you enjoy the swim meet. I remember those days. Best of luck to your swimmer!
ReplyDeleteSuch pretty rainbow pineapples.
ReplyDeleteThe rainbow pineapples are great!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a fun day! I just love your rainbow of pineapples - so cute in large and small!
ReplyDeleteHave fun! The pineapple is really cute!
ReplyDeleteYour pineapples are super cute! It's always a relief to hear that loved ones are OK after a catastrophe. Have fun shopping with the daughter and granddaughter. You can't get that time back so enjoy while you can!
ReplyDeleteI love that you made the pineapples with light at one upper corner, and shadow in the opposite corner. This artist LIKES this!
