Design Wall Monday - Nov. 25

What's on everyone's design wall this morning?

I'm making tiny Christmas stockings for the annual grandkids' ornaments this year.  We have a tradition at Thanksgiving of getting a new Christmas ornament.  I began these when we got married, then it grew as our own kids came along. By the time they left home they had a small box of ornaments to decorate their own trees.  So now I've continued with the grandkid, plus a "family" ornament.  I may tuck in a little treat when I hand them out on Thursday.

Jack's pillowcase is done.  Another tradition has been to make each kid a new pillowcase to put in their Christmas stocking each year.  I have both girls' pillowcases done too, but haven't made the ones for the 2 older boys yet.  I'm still not convinced that I have the fabric combos right.

This month's Saturday Sampler blocks are all done now too.  All 8 of them.

And I've unpacked this kit for a Folded Star table topper in Christmas fabrics.  I'm hoping to cut out the squares needed this week.  It's actually easier to stand at my cutting table than it is to sit at my sewing desk, as the pain comes mostly when the knee is bent.  But I'm not in a rush so whatever I accomplish is OK.

My sewing time has been coming in small increments since messing up my knee a week ago, but I'm OK with a little at a time.  This morning I'm finally getting an MRI.

  1. You've done well on the stitching front even with the bum knee. Hopefully the MRI gets you on the right path. Fingers crossed you won't need surgery.

  2. Those fabrics look great together for a pillowcase. I have been trying to give the kids their ornaments I had given them as kids and they won't take them! So glad to hear you are finally getting that MRI.

  3. I hope the MRI provides an answer! But I gather you've been able to get downstairs to sew.

  4. Hope the MRI shows the problem and the solution is clear. Good that you can still get to the sewing room:)

  6. Praying the MRI gives you some options for the knee.
