Tuesday was a very productive day. My husband left at 9:00 in the morning to play in a golf tournament, and then he had his weekly Tuesday league in the evening. So basically he was gone all day. I went out early to get groceries and run a couple of other errands and had the rest of the day to sew with no interruptions.
On Monday the first 3 vertical columns were sewn together, and it didn't take long to get the other 4 done too. This is so bright and colorful. It's twin sized, so once it's quilted it might be a good donation quilt for Sleep In Heavenly Peace.
Sophia's fastpitch themed pillowcase is done now too. This is oversized because she has an extra big pillow she sleeps with. And there is enough of this fabric left to make something else - maybe a bag or a small travel pillow. We'll see what comes to mind.
Because I had lots of time, I cut all the sashing needed to assemble the 2024 Riley Blake Design challenge blocks next. I've decided that as long as I'm in the basement sewing, then I'm not snacking.
Two rows came together quickly, but then I stopped sewing to go pick up a couple of projects from a quilter. More binding to do!! Maybe I'll take one of the small projects along on the bus trip to give me some hand stitching to do while riding.
Enjoy reading your blog everyday! Today's post about sewing in the basement and not snacking - made me laugh as I can relate!
ReplyDeleteIn the other house my sewing was in the basement and I snacked less as now I walk right past the frig and pantry on the way in and out of my sewing room:( Great progress you did while the hubster was busy elsewhere!
ReplyDeleteThat zipper quilt is so colorful! Hope you get in more stitching time today.
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful to have nearly a full day to sew and create. Love the Zipper quilt!
