Design Wall Monday - Sept 23

New week - with a new focus!

My goal today is to get the 8 blocks made for this month's Saturday Sampler project.  These will be colorful churn dash blocks, finishing at 12".  We're past halfway now.

Because I've finished multiple quilt tops this fall, I decided over the weekend that it was time to make a couple of small projects from kits I've purchased recently.  Here are my choices - one for Christmas and one for fall.  One big benefit of working on some small projects is that I can quilt them myself and use up more batting and backing leftovers.

So, my Design Wall today involves more than one project as usual.  First up will be the Saturday Sampler blocks.  And then I'll be focusing on the fall table runner which is made with 1.5" strips, and will use that new 60 degree ruler I purchased with the kit.

What's on YOUR design wall today?

  2. I've told myself I can now quilt a smaller quilt on my domestic machine now that I finished the village scene. I like the idea of working on some smaller projects -- but I'm going to get through what's on my goal list first.

  3. Oh I love those Fall strips and it will be a perfect Fall table topper! I am working on painting the Christmas Ornaments and crocheting a shawl that I may wear to Paige's wedding if I get it done.

  4. i am with you on smaller projects...most i hand quilt but some i do machine quilt but the real win is getting them finished in a shorter time frame. i think i have just basted my last bed size quilt...i have a pile of quilting waiting for me and i am 75 so i want to get them done...that's the goal anyway...and of course there are other things i still want to make...

  6. You do such a good job of balancing your finishes with a few new things to play with. Hope you made good progress on both sets of projects.
