I was up early on Christmas Eve, and spent the whole morning in my sewing room - sewing, cutting, and some cleaning.
The purple one used nearly all of the lavender squares in the box that Nann sent me last week. I added a purple solid from my stash for borders. The red/white/yellow top used a nautical print - also in Nann's box of treasures. I just added some solids - again from my stash. The NASA prints leftover from Jack's pillowcase are now in a doll quilt top, and I only needed a little of that red solid from the stash. The light blue and striped one on the bottom was from a previous box that Nann had sent me last summer. Last year I made 12 doll quilts and paired them up with stuffed animals or dolls. They were donated to the local safe house. I have a similar donation goal for 2026. These 4 tops are a good beginning - once they are quilted and bound of course.

Glad you got some clean up done in your sewing room. Reading your blog this morning really inspired me to make little quilts out of my orphan blocks! I make doll clothes and doll quilts for 18” dolls that are donated at Christmas time to low income families. Why it has never occurred to me to make doll quilts with orphan blocks is beyond me! I have some purple ones my friend gave me that will be perfect for a doll quilt. I have used leftover hsts before but never orphan blocks. Thank you for the lightbulb moment!
Yay for a cleaner sewing room. I laughed when you said the chair is gone so you can't "reload it". Lol. That is SO me. Cute little doll quilts. Enjoy the peace the cleaning brings to a sewing room. ;^)
Awesome job of using up some leftovers for the doll quilts. That is a lot of pieces for the January spools.
What a good job with the cleaning/sorting! The new project looks like fun!
You are getting organized!
You did a good job in your sewing room. Did you find anything forgotten on the ugly chair? lol Doll bed quilts is great for small bits and pieces and I love the idea of donating doll bed quilts together with stuffed animals or dolls. It seems like you are organized and ready for 2026 challenges in your sewing room.
Slow and steady will win the clean up war. You made good progress and still got to do a bit of fun stuff too.
