RSC26 - Week #11

Today is Saturday Sampler and Sew Vintage day - my favorite Saturday of every month.  Totally quilt focused all day!

Two red Snail Trail blocks were the very first thing I sewed this week after being gone for 5 days, without any stitching time.  Do you feel withdrawal when you can't sit at the machine or do any hand stitching for several days?  I definitely do.

Later in the week I got 2 more of them sewn, so now there are 4 of each color Snail Trail blocks - blue, green, and red.  Plus 4 brown ones I did last fall during the dark neutral sewing month.  These are 12" blocks.

Two red 9" Scrappy Stars were made in between other projects.  I already had 2 red ones made, plus the blue and green ones.

These are going to look good with lots more colors mixed in.

Waking up way too early on Thursday gave me time to finish a couple of quilt tops that were already nearly done.  And then there was time to make the Honey Bee blocks that were cut out.  I had planned to work on them over this weekend, but now they are done.  These 12" finished blocks are faster to sew than they are to cut.

Let's go check out more Rainbow fun . . .

I get withdrawals, as well! I try to have some handwork ready when we travel even if I don’t have the opportunity to work on it, I feel better knowing it’s there, lol. I hear you about the bee blocks taking longer to cut out than to sew but they are cute.

All your blocks look great! Grouchy best describes me when I can’t sew or quilt!

You definitely "got the red" out this week. Lots of pretty blocks.

Yes to withdrawal pains. The snails are looking fab, & those scrappy stars on black are so lovely. Cute bees, even though the cutting is long. Sometimes I just want to cut forever so I can just sew things without stopping, but my hands can only take a couple hours of cutting at a time, so I have to pace myself.

Oh yes, I definitely have sewing machine withdrawal when we're away from home! Both the Snail's Trail and scrappy star blocks look wonderful, Sara. Love the dark backgrounds with the bright stars. Have a fun favorite Saturday of the month!

I like to do some sewing every day too…it doesn’t always happen. I also like to read a bit every day. Love those bees!

Those star blocks are stunning with the dark background. Snail Trail blocks are intimidating to me. I made one years ago but it was little. I should try them again.

You've done the RSC for red very well!

Sara, you are one prolific quilter. LIke you and many others, I go through withdrawals when I can’t sew. It’s totally relaxing to me, and I get cranky when I don’t have that release! Love your Snail’s Trail blocks!!

That's a lovely lot of blocks you've stitched. I can't wait go see how those bees will end up, buzz, buzz.

I certainly do go into withdrawals when I have more than a couple days without sewing! I love your red blocks.

Oh, those rainbow stars! They can be set so many ways.....And the snail's trail blocks coming along nicely. Yes, I get itchy if I am away from sewing for too long.

You always make the nicest blocks! When I am away from home I usually take some knitting. It helps, but it's not the same!

These blocks are fantastic! I particularly like the bee blocks and the snail's trail blocks. Snail's trail has been one of my favorites.
