RSC25 - Week #46

One more RSC quilt is nearly finished, with only binding left to hand stitch.  We're headed to a swim meet today to watch both granddaughters, and binding is a good thing to do in the car since it will be daylight.

This is one of the "baby" Churn Dash flimsies that have been hanging in my closet.  It has so many fun novelty prints.  The backing is a crazy bunch of "pies" with every color showing up somewhere in a slice.  The purple binding is cut from leftover backing of another quilt project.  This will be a donation quilt most likely.

The quarter Dresden blocks (another RSC block set) have been blanket stitched and squared up.  I'm using black for the setting triangles to pick up on the black used in the bottom corner of each block. This might be a bit more dramatic looking than most of my quilts.

Let's go see what else is happening with scraps . . .

I love the black setting triangles that you chose for the quarter Dresden Plates. They are quite dramatic. It is fun to change things up from time to time. Have fun on your drive. Binding in the car is always a nice way to spend a long drive.

The black really frames these color blocks nicely. Nice progress.

Best of luck to your girls at the swim meet! Binding is the one needle and thread project that I can do in the car. And a good project to make a long road trip feel shorter. Love those churn dash blocks.

That backing for the churn dash quilt is awesome! And the Dresden blocks are looking great - those quarter Dresdens are so pretty. Have a fun day- hope you get some binding stitched along the way!

I really like using a darker piece for setting triangles, as I did on my recent Scrappy Grace. It just seems to set things off so well.

Hope the swim meet went well. Your Dresden Plate project is going to be stunning when it's finished.

Your RSC Dresden Plate quilt is gorgeous. Those colors truly pop with the alternate black squares. I can imagine all sorts of quilting potential in the black portions.
