Tuesday was a pretty good day in my sewing room.
The sections for the final block in the little summer banner are sewn. I'll get the paper foundations removed and the 4 sections sewn together this morning. Then I can get it all assembled . . . and quilted . . . and bound. I'm glad I made copies of the foundation paper units for the butterflies because I have this urge to make more of them.
That was the only sewing I did, but I spent a couple of hours going through quilting stuff to donate to the guild rummage sale next week. This basket on a bookcase shelf was stuffed to the max with patterns. Now it's only about half full. I also purged 6 quilt pattern books from that shelf.
I've organized everything purged so far - 1 small box of notions and knick knacks, 1 medium box of patterns and books, plus 1 bigger box of kits and yardage. This was the pile at noon when I stopped to eat some lunch and then go get a haircut.
I feel lighter already, and my sewing room is still full to overflowing. I'll tackle another area of my sewing room today . . . after I work on that little banner. Will it become a flimsy by tomorrow?

Your basket of patterns looks so cute with the fabric hanging out. There must be a saying for quilting patterns similar to the “eyes are bigger than your stomach”!
The color progression in the butterflies is so striking! Good for you to clear out stuff well in advance of the event.
All three of your paper pieced blocks turned out beautifully. That's going to be one fun banner. Our guild sale isn't till July, but I should start on my clean up.
I love your butterflies - so pretty! It does feel good to purge things from the sewing room. Someone else will love your treasures! (and hopefully, make some money for your guild, too.)
love those butterflies nice and colorful and bright! I need to do a big clear out as well. I think I put it off now longer with postage being so high I have no inclination to give away and mail items to others. Now it is pack it up and give it to goodwill in a large bag that says quilting supplies.
Great idea to make copies of the butterflies foundations. They are so beautiful that I would want them everywhere too. Love the print you used in your butterfly. They are fabulous! Great job on the donation/purging front. I believe I have that book with the lady of the lake peeking at the back of the box. ;^)
