I was on a roll in April, with 4 quilt tops made, and 2 good sized quilts bound and finished. Lots of blocks were made for other projects, and it's always good when there is forward progress. It turned out to be a good thing that the weather was chilly, damp, and windy most of the month because I spent a lot of time in my sewing room.
The 3rd quilt top finished in April is Rectangles. I posted on Friday that I hoped to have the rows put together by the end of the weekend, but I actually got it done on Friday morning. This was a free pattern from Mary Quilts. I love her easy designs and instructions. For this one I used 18 strips from a half jelly roll, and cut 18 black strips from yardage. If you look closely near the top right side, you'll see that I made a doll quilt with the leftovers. The doll quilt is quilted and bound, and ready to give away. The quilt top will hang in the closet until I decide how it will be quilted.
The 4th quilt top finished in April (also on Friday) was this Saturday Sampler. All it needed was borders, but I kept changing my mind on how those would look. I finally decided that simple was best, and added a 2" light border, a 1.5" dark blue/green border, and finally a light 4.5" border. The blocks all have scrappy batik backgrounds, so using different batiks from the stash for the borders worked out well. The final result is even better than I hoped.

Two great finishes there! You have been busy!
Gaw-juss!
Such beautiful quilts, both are so different...i like them both!
Stunning quilts, I love the first one!
Lots of "WOW" factor in that first quilt. It's simple, but those colors just make it glow. The Saturday Sampler turned out beautifully too. Congrats on all the progress.
