I'm excited to have a finish to report today.
The Hunter's Star quilt is done with bright batiks and a black music print. The block print has tiny little musical notes all over in bright colors. The back is an aqua swirl. I can check this one off the UFO and PHD lists. There is a smaller version of this that may become a pillow in the future. Or possibly a wall hanging.
I'm also excited to have this month's Saturday Sampler assignment all done. That top row is #3 of our project. Lots of pieces, but it did go together pretty easily. Next Saturday we'll get the pattern for the next row. It's all based on Fair Isle knitting designs this year. Fun and totally different.
Circle of Friends block for May is my first task this week. I actually have the yellow and white pieces done already, so I'm ready to add the first aqua. All the colors are lined up in the order they will be used for this paper piecing.
There are some green scraps calling my name - wanting to become RSC blocks. There is a sticky note by my cutting table reminding me to work on Gameboard, string triangles, and Hollow 9-patch blocks.
At some point this week I plan to work on a couple of blocks for a Sew Vintage project. We are playing with Lori Holt's new book Prairie Home. For starters I'll be making the sunflower block, and might make 4 of them to do the wall hanging rather than the whole sampler project. I haven't decided yet what direction I'm going with it all. But I do plan to "play along" with our Sew Vintage group.
I'll get back to adding the background to the star quilt once I have a couple of smaller things done. I needed a break from having to think so much. LOL
I'm hoping to get out to the golf course today finally, so I'm not sure if I'll do any sewing at all until tomorrow. Maybe - maybe not.
