We had a dry brown winter, with no snow cover . . . and up until the last few days it has been a cold dry brown spring. But in the past few days we've gotten about 3" of much needed rain. And on Tuesday and Wednesday we had sunshine. Spring has sprung!!! My husband told me yesterday morning that he stood in the backyard and that it felt like the oxygen was pouring up from the grass.
It seemed like the tiny leaf buds on all of the trees just exploded open in the past couple of days. From a distance the trees look like they are wearing green lace.
And those blooming trees - OMG - there are some beauties around town in full bloom. This one is just down the street from us.
Spring has sprung outside - and I guess spring has sprung in my brain too. Yesterday I was posting about the multitude of project ideas spinning in my brain. There is a real mix of new projects popping into my head, with the need to finish some on-going UFOs/WIPs/PIGs. At the Sew Vintage group Christmas party in December one of the ladies gave us all a kit she had put together for English paper pieced Moravian Stars. She included everything we needed except fabric. I've been working on these a little at a time ever since, and am now making the last star section. Blue and aqua in various shades.
The May paper pieced block for Circle of Friends has been posted. The June block will be the last one for this series, and Carol Doak has already been teasing us with hints about the next series she's doing. I'm planning to at least gather the fabric today for this single BOM.

Bwahh hahaha you thought you could get thru a book without picking a proect!!! what kind of quilter are you hahaha!! you will never be bored for sure! I like that he could feel the oxygen - that is cool!
Enjoy the Moravian Stars
It really does seem that spring just happens overnight. We've had spring for several weeks, but it was like that here too. Brown and dead one day and then everything had buds on it. Looking at books is dangerous, too many fun ideas!
Trees are starting to leaf out, but no blooming yet in Laramie. A brief snow squall went through yesterday and this morning a fine layer of frost was on the roof and grass - Winter doesn’t want to loosen its grip.
