Wow - how can we be halfway through August already!! Summer flew by like always.
On our road trip to Omaha, granddaughter Olivia picked out fabric for her first sewing lesson with grandma. She is a huge animal lover so this dog fabric isn't surprising.
She did a great job on her pillowcase. She started on a second project - a table runner. Maybe we'll work on it a little more today before they head home.
My own goals for the week are pretty fluid for right now. But I do know that finishing the August blocks for the Meadow Mist mystery is my first goal. I have some yellow RSC blocks cut out and waiting to be sewn. And then I need to work on this month's Saturday Sampler blocks. We'll see how the week goes.

Olivia did great on the pillowcase! It's nice to have a week where you can pick and choose freely on what you want to work on. I have the first half of the week figured out and then after that I 'need' to do another Halloween runner for a customer.
Adorable pillowcase!
You have a beautiful and LUCKY granddaughter.

Your granddaughter is a cutie with her red hair and big smile! The dogs made a great pillowcase. Hope you had a fun grandkid-filled weekend!
so blessed to be able to share you hobby with such an enthusiastic newbie! i do believe she is a quilter already!
Very fun pillow case! A great first project for someone learning to sew. Good luck with your Marigold blocks. I'm just over halfway done with the flying geese for the Dutchman puzzle blocks.
What a great idea for a first lesson. I should do that with one or all of my grandkids -- just not at the same time. You are doing much better than me on the Marigold Mystery than me. I have 2 stars done and a few units for the Dutchman's Puzzle. I might save those to do next week. Have a great week.
I love that pillow case it os perfect and I hope she enjoyed the project. Her hair is beautiful!
Bravo, Olivia! You did a great job. Hopefully, it won't be your last. You rock, girl! ;^)
