A Year to Crow About

I am doing a new BOM at The Pin Cushion for the next 6 months. It is called a A Year to Crow About and we had our first "sew-along" day on Saturday. We got our January and February blocks and could stay and sew them. I got my January block finished and was about half done with the second one, which I finished this afternoon. The blocks all have a rectangle cut from a panel with a different crow each month. And they all have some small checkerboard sections. Very cute asymmetrical layouts that I think I may adapt for some future projects.

It is too chilly in my sewing room today so I didn't spend much time there. BRRRRR! I finished the block and made binding for the owl quilt. Then I headed back upstairs. And we spent a couple of hours at a hockey game to watch our nieces twin boys play. Now it's time to curl up on my couch in a quilt and read a good book.

This is really cute. I really like the hearts - I'm not really a heart person, but here they look wonderful! I am big on checkerboards though, and these are adorable. This will be a great looking quilt. I can't wait to enjoy the process with you as you complete it.
