Today may involve more kitchen time than sewing room time. I'm not hosting Thanksgiving, but have a couple of things to make and take to our daughter's house tomorrow.
I do have the parts all prepped to make this Folded Star table runner. There are 16 prairie points for each of the 4 colors. The red "hot cocoa" print on the left is the center. You know how I feel about hiding really pretty fabrics on the backs of things like runners and wall hangings. So that brown version of the cocoa print was supposed to be the back. But I'm going to use it to make a second one. I found a good cream in the stash. I'll need some red and browns for the rest of the prairie points for that second one.
After cutting and pressing 80 prairie points, I was ready to actually do some sewing. Using some of the scraps from the runner project, I made 4 mug rug blocks. Two of the 4 are even quilted. At least the mug rugs will keep some of those scraps from ending up in my overflowing scrap bins.

I am so glad you are getting down to the sewing room! How large will the folded star runner be? Very pretty fabrics.
I'm not hosting either, but I just made my oven schedule for a bean casserole, stuffing and an extra turkey breast. I like the mug rugs.
Pretty fabrics! Nice projects...I am baking today...caramel rolls, apple crisp and pumpkin bread.
I agree, pretty fabrics shouldn't be hidden on backs. Looks like you've gotten a good start on the one folded star. Have a very happy Thanksgiving!
I love the Folded Star trivets, made a bunch a few years ago. Maybe I should revisit them. Can't wait to see your two come to life.
I have a folded star block made for me by my sister-in-law several years ago. She mounted in a wooden embroidery hoop! I’ve never made one.
