The second Saturday of the month is always my favorite one because there is Saturday Sampler in the morning, and then our Sew Vintage group meets after lunch. Yay!
The only purple thing I can report for this week is a doll quilt using lavender/cream HSTs and squares left over from a backing. The back of this one is more of that pink print. The binding is leftover binding, and it's also purple. It's now wrapped around that cute little pink pig stuffy, and ready for donation.
There is an RSC finish to report however, and I really really really like how this turned out. Pyramids was a block set from 2023. Each block is made from one large colored equilateral triangle, plus 3 smaller colored ones, and 9 small background triangles.
The small triangles are sewn into 3 identical units that are the same size as the big triangle. I saw this block online but with no pattern. I did the math to make these end up as 12" tall. The blocks were actually pretty easy to make and all together they made a cute scrappy quilt to be donated.
One more RSC project is a Work In Progress now. A couple of the Buckeye Beauty rows are now assembled, and maybe by next Saturday it will be a complete flimsy.
There is a LOT MORE inspiration out there in the RSC blog posts.

The piggie and little quilt are perfect! Congrats on the finish and moving another project along. :)
Sara, love your pyramids quilt. It is lovely and very interesting to study.
Your triangle quilt (pyramids) turned out great! Congrats on your finish.
Pyramids makes for a really lovely quilt!
Sara, this is Sarah! I love your pyramids block quilt. I don’t have a blog, but think I’d like to do the race next year. This would be a fun block. Would you be willing to share your triangle dimensions? I’ve already decided to do a buckeye beauty with batik scraps on a black background. I think that one will be for my son in law. Happy sewing!
The little doll quilt is adorable, and perfect for some purple scraps! And love the pyramid quilt, too. Looks like the quilting really gave it a lot of texture. It's a beauty!
Love the Pyramid quilt - lots of secondary patterns to catch the eye. Well done!
Both of your RSC quilts are spectacular. I confess these days I would have EQ 8 do the math on the equilateral triangle block. Good for you for working it out on your own.
The Pyramids finish is totally eye-catching & I just can't stand how awesome the Buckeye Beauty is turning out. Fabulous!
