August goals

A new month, and I am pushing toward finishing some things already happening, and starting at least one new project.  Before retirement, August meant prepping for a new school year.  Now, I can just continue with enjoying summer.  I'm even hoping for a few days in the Black Hills toward the end of the month.

  • Personal goals
    • Walk at least 1 mile at least 5 days a week - weather permitting!
    • Continue decluttering (tackle basement bedroom closet)
    • Play more golf
  • Binding & other hand stitching
    • Ohio Star
    • Shibori Blues
    • work on hand quilting projects (either Seasonal Cats or Vintage Stars)
  • Block of the Month piecing
    • Saturday Sampler - month #5 blocks
    • RSC blocks in new color - orange
    • Tranquility mystery quilt clue #3
    • Carol Doak paper pieced stars - block #2
    • Star of Wonder mystery quilt - finish the top & choose a backing
  • RSC quilt top assembly - at least 1 of these
    • Kitty blocks
    • Dutchman's Puzzle
    • 16-patch Churn Dash
  • UFO projects - at least 1 of these
    • quilt Bright Happy Blocks
    • Quick Strippee baby quilt
    • small zipper bag (several are already kitted up)
  • PIG (new projects) at least 1 of these

That's a nice, well-rounded list. Years ago you may have spent August preparing for school -- nowadays classes begin mid-month!

Good luck with your list for the month. There is a lot on it, but that means you can find something to fit the available time and mood.
