OK - one more block with blue in it for RSC15. This is one of 4 unfinished blocks from a past Saturday Sampler. Now there are only 3 of them left to do.
I'm not absolutely sure why these got set aside because I love star blocks and I love sewing on batiks. It was probably because there was an applique snowman block that went with each of these and I wasn't too fond of applique at the time. I'm getting better at it.
The snowman blocks are not done either, but are now destined to become something separate from this star block project. I can deal with making a smaller quilt out of the 12 star blocks and doing something else with the appliqued snowmen later. So 1 UFO has become 2 smaller UFOs.

I love star blocks, too, but seldom make them. This block is a stunner - well done!
Hi Sara, I am so happy to meet you. I was out blog surfing when I came across your blog. I am a newbie quilter. I have been quilting for around a year and a half. Once the quilting bug bites you, there's no turning back. I have fallen in love with this new adventure and want to learn all that I can. Congratulations on almost retiring. I have been retired for four year now and I'm loving every minute of it:) I enjoyed reading about the little rocking chair that your grandfather built. My husband has built a motorcycle rocking-horse for one granddaughter and a sink, stove and refrigerator for another. It is our hope that these will be handed down to their children someday.
I am your newest follower. Please come visit my blog. I would consider it an honor to have you follow me back.
Have a lovely weekend and keep quilting.
Your new blogging sister,
Connie :)
I still have these blocks also. The snowman blocks are holding me up also. I will be completing mine without the snowmen. I am not interested in the snowmen like I used to be.
