First of all, I'm very excited because it's GUILD day, and I haven't been to a meeting since July. In August I was gone for my class reunion, and in September I was gone to Kansas for a family reunion. So I'm really looking forward to attending guild again. Such a terrific group and the Show n Tell each month is so inspirational!!
And - the bonus is I got to sew Thursday morning because all those grant applications were completed on Wednesday night. Yay! I should be back to a normal work schedule and that means plenty of sewing time again.
This is the final month for the current Saturday Sampler program so I'm making that my #1 priority for the month of October. Our last block pattern will be available next Saturday. I have 3 sets of blocks to work with, but I'll focus on getting the Christmas version assembled first. The other 2 versions will come later once I have a layout plan.
The #2 priority is getting the binding onto 2 quilts: Tulip Time and Halloween Party. The Tulip Time quilt has been here and ready to bind for over a month, but I just didn't get to it. This was an RSC project for over 2 years. I loved making the little tulip blocks each month. Halloween Party was a Rainbow Scrap Challenge project but it is scrappy, with lots of different seasonal prints. Scrappy makes me happy don't you know!!
Beyond these big projects, I have several other goals . . .
- Quilt and bind the Boo Buddies wall hanging
- Next UFO project - work on Humble Homes - ANY progress is OK
- Use the Ohio Star blocks (white backgrounds, colored stars) for new flimsy
- cut kit for next Quick Strippee baby quilt (frogs)
- Sew Rainbow Scrap Challenge blocks in the new monthly color and some previous colors
- elephants & hearts
- Twinkle Stars & possibly other stars
- Rainbow Connections
- Pillowcase kits for 5 grandkids
- Quilt of Valor tasks
- cut kit for one new QOV quilt
- send out nomination letters
- sew 2 pillowcases already kitted up
- kit up 2 or 3 new pillowcases
- prep for QOV Sew Day on October 12

Enjoy your guild meeting today! Your sampler Christmas quilt is going to be lovely, happy stitching!
Great-looking red quilt! That will make a nice finish. SOmetimes binding is the most tedious part, but it feels so good when it's done! Enjoy your guild meeting!
Your Christmas Sampler is so fun! I love the look of the sashing the way you've made it. Pretty quilts for binding, too. Enjoy your guild day today!
The secondary design in your Christmas quilt is just so cool. You have a good list of things to do! My favorite is the tulip quilt. One day I'm going to make this one. :)
Enjoy your Guild day. Have fun.
Love your Christmas blocks together.
Pretty quilts waiting for binding.
Love how those Saturday Sampler blocks are hooked together. The secondary design going all around them makes my eyes dance all over the quilt. Nice job! It's exciting how there is only one more block to go.
The Guild here hasn’t returned to in-person meetings. I miss the gals and the show and tell.
Getting together with your guild sounds like fun! And wow you have a lot of great goals lined up for this month;) I am glad you will get more sewing time this week.
Pretty Christmas quilt blocks! And wow, that's quite a To-Do list! Good luck with all the great stuff you do.
That's going to be a gorgeous Christmas quilt! I'm really looking forward to seeing your Tulip Quilt done and dusted. You did a beautiful job with it!
